Work Package 1: Setting the Context and Defining a Common Methodology

Work Package 1: Setting the Context and Defining a Common Methodology

WP1 aims to establish a shared framework for understanding and improving the accessibility of the tourism ecosystem across the programme area. It provides the theoretical, methodological, and analytical foundation necessary for the development of inclusive tourism solutions, guided by Universal Design (UD) principles.

This includes a multilevel investigation of tourism accessibility in Italy and Croatia to assess needs, gaps and opportunities, supported by a market research report on the potential of Universal Design in tourism and recommendations for branding and promotional strategies for inclusive destinations.

It also involves the creation of a living catalogue of UD-based theories and best practices, as well as the development of common methodologies and evaluation tools to analyse the accessibility of pilot sites throughout the project.
