The project coordinated by the Municipality of Forlì as the Lead Partner, is also involving the Cities of Campobasso, Cesenatico, Rijeka and Zadar, together with RERA in Split and the University of Zadar, has been approved within the Specific Objective 3.1 of the Italy-Croatia programme: Make natural and cultural heritage a leverage for sustainable and more balanced territorial development.
During its 30 months of duration, REVIVAL will develop methods and tools to revitalise dismissed areas, buildings (e.g. summer camps, schools, barracks, military fortifications) and industrial complexes, with an architectonical and historical meaning, representing remarkable examples of industrial archaeology, rationalist and modernist architecture. The project goal is to transform them in a leverage for a sustainable and more balanced territorial development, by:
- Realizing small works to clean and make accessible buildings and fortifications of public property;
- Organizing artistic events hosted in the dismissed buildings and areas, to attract creative people and tourists and raise the awareness of local communities, policy-makers and investors;
Promoting a new tourism offer, with a common joint cross border brand and linked to a Cultural Route of the lost heritage of ‘900 in the Adriatic.
