On 9-10 September 2026, NAVIMORE was presented at the 13th REDETE Conference in Ancona, Italy, introducing the project to an international audience and highlighting its contribution to cross-border cooperation and regional development in the Adriatic-Ionian area.
Connecting Territories Through Cross-Border Cooperation
REDETE 2026 brought together researchers, institutions and stakeholders to exchange knowledge and perspectives on regional development, cooperation and innovation.
The conference provided an opportunity to present NAVIMORE's objectives and highlight the importance of improving cooperation between Italy and Croatia, particularly in the maritime and intermodal transport sector.
By addressing challenges related to fragmented data and differences in data management practices, NAVIMORE aims to facilitate information sharing across borders and strengthen coordination between institutions and systems.
Making Data Sharing Work Across Borders
Reliable and comparable data can play an important role in understanding shared challenges, identifying development opportunities and supporting informed decision-making.
NAVIMORE is working towards these goals through the development of a Cross-Border Data Governance Action Plan and an interoperable digital platform for cross-border transport data. These tools are intended to support more effective information exchange and contribute to a shared approach to cross-border governance.
By strengthening interoperability and institutional cooperation, the project seeks to help build a more connected and coordinated framework for transport and regional development between Italy and Croatia.
Contributing to a More Connected Adriatic-Ionian Region
The presentation at REDETE 2026 also provided an opportunity to highlight NAVIMORE's connections with broader regional research and cooperation initiatives, including the DO-air Observatory, which focuses on analysing socio-economic trends across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
These complementary efforts reflect the importance of connecting data, research and institutional cooperation to better understand regional dynamics and support sustainable development.
Through its activities, NAVIMORE contributes to the wider objective of strengthening cross-border collaboration and supporting the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).
NAVIMORE is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme. The project aims to strengthen cross-border governance and improve data interoperability in the maritime and intermodal transport sector, promoting more effective cooperation between Italy and Croatia.
