Fostering Climate Resilience and Civil Protection Awareness Through Play

27/10/2026

As part of the STRENGTH project, the Municipality of Ravenna is finalizing the production of "R’U’Ready?", an innovative educational board and simulation game developed in collaboration with Cobblepot Games.

Designed to engage younger generations in climate adaptation and natural hazard preparedness, the game translates complex environmental risks into an interactive, team-based experience.

Through scenarios inspired by local climate challenges and civil protection procedures, players take on active roles to make strategic decisions during simulated emergency events. Participants become managers of their territory, and each player must decide how to use limited resources to: anticipate risks, prevent damage, manage emergencies, rebuild, and increase resilience. Decisions have consequences for the territory, then discover just how effective those decisions were when events occur.

As they navigate the dynamics of floods, coastal vulnerability, and extreme weather, participants develop a deeper understanding of risk perception and awareness. At the same time, the experience highlights the crucial importance of community cooperation and joint decision-making to mitigate hazards and successfully overcome critical situations.

The final phase of printing and assembling kits is currently underway.

R’U’Ready? will be officially released soon and distributed by the Municipality of Ravenna across local schools, accompanied by dedicated educational activities and workshops aimed at students and teachers.

By bringing civil protection education directly into classrooms, the STRENGTH project and the Municipality of Ravenna continue their commitment to building informed, prepared, and resilient communities.

Stay tuned for the official launch date and distribution details.
