28 September 2026: Partners in Bari for the Final Project Meeting

At the end of the Final Conference, held on 28 September 2026 in Bari, project partners gathered once again for the final project meeting, marking another important moment in the concluding phase of the cooperation journey developed between Italy and Croatia.
After almost three years of joint work, the meeting, led by the Civil Protection Section of Puglia Region, offered the partnership the opportunity to come together once more, take stock of the experience developed through HANDY and coordinate the final steps towards the formal closure of the project.
The concluding meeting represented an important internal coordination moment for the partnership, but also an opportunity to reflect on the shared path undertaken during HANDY and on the value of the relationships established between the participating organisations.
Over the course of the project, cooperation between Italian and Croatian partners made it possible to bring together different experiences, skills and operational perspectives, contributing to a common approach to increasingly complex risks and emergencies.
The final meeting therefore closed an important chapter of the project while reinforcing one of the main messages that emerged throughout HANDY: cross-border cooperation should not end with the formal conclusion of a project.
The knowledge, professional relationships and experience developed during almost three years of joint work provide a valuable basis for continuing dialogue and cooperation between Civil Protection systems on both sides of the Adriatic, with the shared goal of improving preparedness and resilience in the face of future challenges.
A final project meeting, therefore, but also a moment to recognise the work carried out together and the foundations created for future cooperation.
