The Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme took part in the MED Lab’s annual meeting, held in Cagliari on 1st and 2nd October. Bringing together Interreg Programmes from across the Mediterranean, the event aimed at exchanging experiences, strengthening cooperation and exploring opportunities for greater synergies in the region.
The meeting provided a valuable forum to discuss how cooperation programmes can work more effectively together and maximise the impact of projects and initiatives addressing shared Mediterranean challenges.
A key focus was the mapping of project outputs achieved across the Mediterranean, offering an opportunity to identify common results, complementarities and potential areas for further cooperation. Participants also discussed EU strategies and initiatives relevant to the Mediterranean, considering how Programme activities and projects can contribute to wider European priorities.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to take stock of the post-2027 programming process. Interreg Programmes shared updates and perspectives, fostering dialogue on future cooperation priorities and the role of territorial cooperation in addressing challenges and opportunities across the Mediterranean.
The exchange confirmed the value of continued coordination among Interreg Programmes in the Mediterranean, supporting stronger links between projects, strategies and future programming and helping to build a more connected and cooperative Mediterranean region.
