YPACT goes to Brussels for its Launch Conference during the European Week of Regions
30/09/2026
Brussels, 13 October 2026 – YPACT goes to Brussels. The project will officially be launched in the heart of the European Quarter, bringing the experience and perspective of territorial cooperation directly into the European debate on youth participation governance.
The event will bring together in Brussels representatives of European institutions, youth organisations, local and regional authorities and territorial cooperation stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities connected to youth participation, particularly in view of the post-2027 period.
The YPACT Launch Conference will take place on Tuesday, 13 October 2026 from 14:30 to 18:30, in conjunction with the European Week of Regions and Cities, the annual event organised by the European Commission’s DG REGIO.
Holding its Launch Conference in this high-level context is more than a symbolic choice: it provides YPACT with the opportunity to bring the territorial dimension of cooperation directly into the European context, opening the project to new approaches, experiences and networks. Its presence in Brussels represents an important opportunity to give the project greater international visibility and connect its territorial experience with European institutions, youth organisations, local and regional authorities, and stakeholders working on cooperation and youth participation.
The YPACT launch event will open with welcome remarks by Aldrin Dalipi, President of the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion, followed by a presentation of YPACT by Maria Luisa Esposito, Project Manager at Eurelations GEIE.
Two networking sessions will explore key dimensions of the project. The first will focus on the role of young people in shaping policies and decisions that concern them, looking at how cooperation between youth and institutions can become more structured and effective. The discussion will bring together the perspectives of young people and major European initiatives working on youth cooperation.
The second session will examine the role of local and regional authorities in promoting territorial cooperation for and with young people. Contributions from key territorial cooperation stakeholders will provide an opportunity to share experiences and reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing territorial cooperation in the post-2027 period.
The objective is not simply to create additional opportunities for young people to express their views, but to explore governance models that allow their contribution to become a more structured, continuous and meaningful part of decision-making.
The Conference will provide inspiration and momentum for the next phase of YPACT’s activities. Over the coming months, YPACT partners will organise expert-led capacity-building workshops as well as policy debates aimed at strengthening the role of young people in decision-making processes at both territorial and European level.
The YPACT project will welcome you in Brussels.
