The STRENGTH Project came to a successful conclusion on September 28–29, 2026, bringing together partners, researchers, local authorities, and students across Ravenna, Codigoro, and Ferrara to present and celebrate shared milestones in climate resilience and territorial safety.
Public Engagement & Awareness (Ravenna - Day 1): at the MAR in Ravenna focused on effective risk communication, featuring sociological insights from the University of Ferrara, flood preparedness from the City of Kaštela, and youth-centered initiatives with students from I.T.S. Morigia–Perdisa, Ferrara Plain Reclamation Consortium and Cobblepot Games.
In the afternoon, participants joined a technical visit to the Codigoro Pumping Station (Ferrara Plain Reclamation Consortium) to see vital hydraulic infrastructure in action.
Cutting-Edge Technical Solutions (Ferrara - Day 2): at Palazzo Naselli Crispi explored project results on early warning tools, digital monitoring of structural vulnerability (University of Split), multi-hazard geophysical measures (OGS), building fragility curves, coastal flood models (University of Ferrara) and saltwater intrusion mitigation along the Ferrara coast (Ferrara Plain Reclamation Consortium).
To conclude, the project’s communication activities were presented by RERA SD, the City of Kaštela, and the University of Ferrara, followed by the results of the sociological analysis conducted by the DOS - University of Ferrara.
The event highlighted the concrete impact of cross-border cooperation in tackling natural hazards and climate change across the Adriatic.
