Dissemination event online – HGK Split and DIH Agrifood Croatia

On 24 September 2026, HGK – County Chamber Split and DIH Agrifood Croatia hosted an online dissemination event within the framework of the BEST4.0 project (Blue Economy Sectors Digital Transformation towards Industry 4.0), co-funded by the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme. The partners presented their experiences and the results of project activities, with a focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digital transformation and adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies.
HGK shared its experience from implementing WP3, including the services offered to companies: strategic and business consulting, support in digitalisation and Industry 4.0, internationalisation and financing, as well as education and mentoring. Companies showed a high level of interest and engagement, with financial and statistical data for decision-making, digitalisation planning and the development of digital capacities, and planning of future investments highlighted as especially important areas of support. Digitalna komora, the HGK business portal, was recognised as a useful source of information for planning and decision-making.
Among the main barriers to introducing Industry 4.0 solutions, companies pointed to limited access to financing for digitalisation and a lack of the knowledge and competences needed for digital transformation.
The experiences presented showed that targeted consulting, education, mentoring and access to relevant information can significantly strengthen SMEs' digital capacities. The activities carried out under BEST4.0 also helped identify needs and services with potential for further use within the cross-border DIH network.
