Project meeting in Split & Tribunj - 21-22 September 2026

The FishNoWaste project partners met in Split and Tribunj, Croatia, on 21–22 September 2026 for a two-day project meeting dedicated to reviewing the progress of project activities, exchanging experiences and coordinating the next steps.
The meeting brought together project partners to assess the implementation of activities across the project's Work Packages 1–4 and to discuss progress achieved so far. The sessions provided an opportunity to exchange updates, address ongoing activities and coordinate future actions.
Reviewing progress and defining next steps
The first day of the meeting focused on the implementation of the project activities. Partners discussed updates within WP1, WP2, WP3 and WP4, sharing information on achievements and ongoing work and identifying the actions required for the upcoming period.
The discussions continued on the second day, when partners worked together to define the main conclusions of the meeting and establish priorities for the next phase of project implementation. A Steering Committee meeting was also held as part of the programme.
Connecting project work with local fisheries
An important part of the meeting programme was the visit to Tribunj, where the project partners met with a local fishing cooperative.
The visit provided an opportunity to connect the project's objectives with the realities and needs of the fisheries sector. Partners were introduced to a waste management solution for fishing activities, providing a practical example of approaches that can contribute to better management and reduction of waste generated in fishing ports.
The exchange with local fisheries stakeholders also highlighted the importance of cooperation between project partners, fishing communities and other stakeholders in developing practical and sustainable solutions.
Working together for a cleaner Adriatic Sea
The FishNoWaste project focuses on waste reduction and management in fishing ports of the Adriatic Sea, supporting the transition towards more sustainable fisheries.
Through cooperation between partners from Italy and Croatia, the project aims to strengthen knowledge exchange, improve waste management practices and support solutions that can contribute to reducing the environmental impact of fishing activities.
The September meeting in Croatia provided another important milestone for the partnership, strengthening cooperation and setting the direction for the activities ahead.
