The fourth Call for Proposals for Capitalisation Projects, focusing on Specific Objective 4.1, “Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation”, closed on Tuesday, 15 September, with a total of 69 applications submitted, requesting a combined €68.6 million in funding.
Launched in coordination with the Interreg Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM), the Call aimed to support the transfer, adaptation and scaling-up of existing solutions across the Mediterranean, as identified in the dedicated MMM Output Database.
A total of 401 applicants from 278 organisations were involved, with public-sector organisations accounting for the majority (77%). While 166 Italian and Croatian organisations participated as project partners, a significant difference can be observed among lead applicants, with 56 Italian and 13 Croatian organisations.
The growing number of newcomers is particularly encouraging, with 132 organisations participating in the Call for the first time, including 50 Croatian and 82 Italian organisations.
With an available budget of around €6 million, this is expected to be the most competitive of the Programme’s four calls, with approximately one application in ten likely to receive funding.
The high level of participation, together with the €68.6 million in funding requested, confirms the strong interest in capitalising on existing results and turning proven solutions into concrete impacts across the Italy-Croatia area.
