On 18–19 November 2026, Ancona, Italy, will host the event “Climate Change Adaptation in the Adriatic-Ionian Region: From Policies to Pilots”, organised by the Marche Region under the Italian Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) 2026–2027.
The event is organised in connection with the Interreg Italy–Croatia strategic project REALIST and will bring together representatives of European and national institutions, regional and local authorities, research organisations, civil protection bodies and European cooperation projects to discuss common climate challenges and strengthen adaptation across the Adriatic-Ionian Region.
The programme will combine institutional dialogue, presentations of European project experiences and thematic working groups, focusing on how climate strategies and scientific evidence can be translated into practical solutions, investment priorities and concrete adaptation actions.
Building on experiences from initiatives including ADRIACLIM, CLIMAAX, P2R and REALIST, the event will focus on bridging the gap between policy frameworks and their implementation, with particular attention to transferable solutions and pilot initiatives.
