From Local to Global: enhancing local tourism to generate cross-border value
Emilia-Romagna Region, partner of the AdriACTIVE project, will hold its Cross-Border territorial event on October 15, 2026, at the Teatro del Palazzo Mediceo in San Leo, in the province of Rimini.
Under the title “From Local to Global: Enhancing local tourism to generate cross-border value”, the event will bring together project partners, institutional representatives and tourism experts to explore how local experiences can contribute to a shared tourism offer across the Adriatic.
The programme will begin with a walk along the Saint Francis Way, from the Convent of Sant’Igne to Santa Maria Maddalena Bridge, followed by a lunch featuring local products.
The afternoon sessions will focus on the Saint Francis Way as Emilia-Romagna’s pilot area and draw on the experience of the Via Francigena in promoting cross-border itineraries. Participants will also reflect on the walking experience, identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement.
CISET will introduce the overall vision for AdriACTIVE’s cross-border itinerary, followed by presentations of the partners’ pilot actions. A collaborative session will then explore potential visitors, the itinerary’s distinctive features and opportunities for joint promotion.
The event will conclude with a guided visit to San Leo’s Franciscan monuments, connecting the discussions with the cultural heritage that gives the territory its character
