The MEMORY ESCAPE Project – Adriatic Memory Escape: A phygital tool for engaging youth with dissonant heritage, co-funded by the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme, is entering a new stage of development.

Following the research and co-design activities carried out in the first phase of the project, the ideas and historical narratives developed in Bertinoro and Labin are now gradually being transformed into the physical and digital components of the MEMORY ESCAPE phygital experiences.

At this stage of the project, all partners will meet in Bertinoro on 30 September and 1 October 2026 for the 2nd Transnational Project Meeting, hosted by the Municipality of Bertinoro at the Tourist Office in Piazza della Libertà.

The two-day meeting will provide an opportunity to bring together the different strands of work currently underway and assess the progress made since the Kick-off Meeting. Partners will discuss the historical and digital content being developed for the two escape rooms and work together on the next steps for the Digital Asset Library and the functional phygital prototype, including the integration of digital puzzles and physical interactions.

The discussions will also focus on how the experiences will work in practice, including the physical game elements, the technical requirements of the pilot sites in Bertinoro and Labin, and the tools that will support their installation, operation and future replication.

Bringing together the Italian and Croatian partners, the two-day meeting will help connect the different components of the project, share progress and coordinate the next steps towards the development of the MEMORY ESCAPE phygital experiences in Bertinoro and Labin.
