Italia-Croatia

The conference "From Monitoring to Action for Resilient Coastal Areas" will be held on 25 September 2026 in Hotel Aristos Zagreb. Conference brings together experts, institutions and stakeholders from Croatia and Italy to address a growing challenge for Mediterranean coastal areas: saltwater intrusion into freshwater resources. This process threatens water availability, increases soil salinity and negatively affects agriculture, ecosystems and the long-term sustainability of coastal communities.

Through expert presentations, insights from the Croatian and Italian pilot areas, a poster session and a panel discussion, the conference will explore how advanced monitoring, scientific knowledge and coordinated cross-border action can support timely decisions and practical responses - from understanding the risks to protecting water, soil and agriculture.

Participation is free, but the number of places is limited. Registration is required by September 20th, 2026.
