On 18 September 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00, the GREW project will organise the online Marketplace “Building Climate-Resilient Communities through Better Governance – Where Problems Meet Solutions”. The event will bring together project partners, stakeholders and practitioners interested in climate change adaptation, wetland protection and participatory environmental governance.
The programme will begin with a welcome address by AGRRA Partner and an introduction to the GREW project and Marketplace. The central interactive session, “Thinking Like a Wetland for Adapting Communities to Climate Change”, will combine short expert presentations with discussions among participants. It will address the impacts of climate change on Adriatic wetlands, the main governance challenges related to climate adaptation and the role of Wetland Contracts in strengthening community resilience.
GREW project partners will then present Wetland Contract case studies implemented in their pilot areas. These practical examples will highlight local challenges, solutions developed through stakeholder cooperation, lessons learned and opportunities for transferring successful approaches to other territories.
The event will conclude with an open discussion and wrap-up session, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange experiences, identify shared challenges and explore new possibilities for cooperation. By connecting real problems with practical solutions, the Marketplace aims to inspire further action for the sustainable management of wetlands and the development of more resilient local communities.
