MILEPORT partners, representing the ports of Trieste, Venice, Ravenna, Ancona, Bari, Rijeka, Zadar and Ploče, kicked off the project during an online meeting, which was held on 7th February 2024.
During the meeting, the project beneficiaries went through the activities, deliverables and outputs to be produced during the project’s lifetime, focusing on the application of IT innovations for better managing road flows to/from ports of the Programme Area. Project beneficiaries delve into the details of the expected results and agreed on a roadmap for the coming months.
Initially, the partnership will joint draft a cross-border Strategy for improving the last mile accessibility of Adriatic ports through ICT, setting a vision, objectives and priorities aimed at the optimisation of transport flows and reduction of environmental externalities.
Then, partners will form two groups, breaking down the strategy into action plans focusing on two topics: vehicle booking systems/transport flow management and port gates, highlighting specific tasks for each partner, KPIs, time line as well as needed financial resources. Also, Mr. Hrvoje Grancarić, the JS officer for MILEPORT, described the results of the first Call and the main features of project management and financial reporting.
