Study Visit At The Norwegian University Of Science And Technology (Ntnu) In The Framework Of InnovaMare Project

Published on 21/11/2021 (last modified 08/04/2022)

From 15th to 17th November 2021, the Italian and Croatian partners of the strategic InnovaMare project (Interreg VA Italy-Croatia 2014-2020 Programme), accompanied by local SMEs, have been hosted in Trondheim by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) for a study visit.

This great opportunity enabled participants to get to know a successful ecosystem supporting innovation, generation of ideas, entrepreneurship and technology transfer. The thematic focus was related to underwater robotics and sensors and maritime technologies.
First day started in Trondheim visiting NTNU and Marine Technology Centre with emphasis to innovation and got the opportunity to visit NTNU Underwater Robotics Laboratory.
Thanks to prof. Martin Ludwigsen and colleagues, we got insight of work and collaboration, as they are leaders in this field of underwater robotics.

Later we have had presentations in Ocean Autonomy Cluster, which is a place where many start-up companies are located. We are delighted that we had an opportunity to listen, among others, the presentations of Norbit and Maritime Robotics companies, learning technology novelties and new business models. We have also visited three small companies, Ocean Tech, Eelume, and Blueye Robotics, members of this cluster.

At the presentation of the NTNU Technology transfer Department, we learned a lot about Innovation support systems in Norway emphasizing many important details in this TT processes. It was unique to get this exceptional experience together learning about all possibilities that are already happening in Norway and could be transferred through our InnovaMare project.
