Final conference of the HATCH project held in Split

The final conference of the project HATCH was held in Hotel Park, Split, Croatia, on the 21st June 2023.

The conference gathered all project partners, associated external experts and representatives of other projects to present the main results and discuss future synergies revolving around the topic of Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in the Adriatic Sea.
Maja Krželj from the University Department of Marine Studies of the University of Split opened the conference with a welcome speech. Following this, Lovro Jurišić from the Joint Secretariat presented the next funding period of the Interreg Italy-Croatia 2021-2027 Programme. A short overview of the HATCH project was given by Sabina Susmel from the University of Udine, lead partner of the project. The core result of the project, the Hadriaticum Data Hub geoplatform was presented by Caterina Dabala from CORILA, whereas Grgur Pleslić from BWI presented the communication activities and stakeholder engagement.
Besides HATCH, other projects with the mutual topic of MSP were presented. Ivan Sekovski from PAP-RAC Split gave a short talk about project CREATE, while Andrijana Dedić from Municipality of Podtsrana and Zorana Škare from Zdravi Grad presented project RESISTANCE. Slaven Jozić from IOR Split presented project EUROBATH and the presentations were concluded with a short talk about the progress of MSP in eastern Adriatic Sea by Marina Marković from PAP-RAC Split.
Following the presentations, discussion among participants revealed new interesting topics to be addressed in the future collaborations to be achieved not only within the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme, but in conjunction with other initiatives such as EUSAIR.
