With the intention to raise awareness through the networking opportunities and exchanges of experiences and opinions, within HATCH project Blue World Institute has organized joint event with EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) action. At the public event organized in Veli Lošinj, Croatia on 17th of March, Mrs. Renata Tomljenović, Senior Researcher Advisor, from the Croatian Institute of Tourism introduced us to the CruiseAIR - Destination management plan’s preparation for cruise destinations in the Adriatic – Ionian region. Aim of this project is to improve the sustainability of cruise tourism destinations in the Adriatic-Ionian Region by addressing product and management dimensions through a strategic framework. Within the framework of the HATCH project, cruising tourism is one of the important factors to consider in the process of Maritime Spatial Planning. This was therefore a great opportunity to discuss clear links between initiatives in both EUSAIR and Interreg projects aiming at protection of the Adriatic Sea.
