Study visit in Croatia
Within the framework of the GUSTI – Gastro Upscaled Tourist Itinerary in Rural Regions of Croatia and Italy project, a study visit in Croatia will take place from 16 to 19 March 2026, dedicated to the exchange of knowledge on sustainable models of cultural and gastronomic tourism in rural areas.
The study visit brings together project partners and stakeholders from Croatia and Italy, with the aim of strengthening cross-border cooperation and fostering the development of innovative and sustainable tourism products.
Over the course of three days, participants will visit the Lika-Senj, Zadar and Karlovac counties, where they will explore examples of good practices that connect local gastronomy, agricultural production and cultural heritage into authentic tourist experiences. The programme includes field visits to family farms, as well as producers of cheese, wine, honey and olive oil, providing insight into traditional production processes and local gastronomic specialties.
The study visit will allow participants to gain first-hand experience of sustainable gastro-tourism initiatives, exchange knowledge with local producers and tourism professionals, and stimulate new ideas for integrating local products and cultural heritage into tourism offerings.
Through activities such as these, the GUSTI project contributes to strengthening stakeholder capacities and promoting the development of sustainable, experience-based tourism across the programme area.
