Study visit in Emilia Romagna Region
In October 2025, Emilia Romagna will become a place where tradition, nature, and fine gastronomy meet. From 7 to 10 October 2025, a cross-border study visit within the GUSTI project will take place in the picturesque town of Bagno di Romagna and the surrounding Apennine valleys. Known for its thermal springs, warm hospitality, and slow pace of life, this charming town offers the perfect backdrop for discovering the essence of sustainable gastro-tourism.
Over the course of three days, participants will immerse themselves in the heart of the region through unforgettable experiences: culinary workshops with a renowned Michelin-starred chef, tastings of local specialties, visits to family farms and beekeepers, walks through chestnut forests, and hands-on preparation of traditional recipes. They will also enjoy the thrill of truffle hunting in historic villages and savor wines that tell the story of this remarkable land. The journey will culminate in Rimini, at the TTG Travel Experience – Italy's largest tourism fair – where local heritage and global trends in destination promotion will come together.
Study visits like this one bring not only new knowledge, but also fresh ideas and meaningful collaborations. They provide an opportunity to experience first-hand what sustainable tourism truly means: respecting nature, preserving cultural heritage, and celebrating the flavors that define the identity of a region.
This is precisely why the GUSTI project places strong emphasis on the importance of the Adriatic’s intangible cultural heritage. Through activities like this, it promotes gastronomic tourism, supports the balanced development of destinations, and encourages sustainable solutions. By exchanging knowledge and experiences, it creates space for a shared vision of tourism that connects people, places, and traditions – for the benefit of the entire region and generations to come.
