Carbon Credits and Certification: Strategic Conference held in Trilj

On January 21, 2026, a hybrid conference held in Trilj, Croatia, within the framework of the GECO 2.2 project brought together national and local institutions, farmers, SMEs, and environmental organizations to discuss the future of carbon credits and certification in Croatia. The event highlighted the evolving EU framework for carbon credit certification and stressed the need for a structured national roadmap as a prerequisite for developing a credible Voluntary Carbon Market. Through expert discussions and the presentation of GECO 2.2 tools, the conference underscored a shared commitment to transparency, institutional coordination, and the transformation of sustainable agricultural practices into concrete environmental and economic opportunities.
