About section

About

GECO2.2 builds on the success of GECO2, aiming to enhance carbon credits from agriculture. It promotes sustainable farming practices that increase carbon storage, improve resilience to climate impacts, and boost biodiversity. By establishing a regional carbon market, it aligns with EU strategies and policies. Key objectives include setting up the market, supporting farmers in adopting eco-friendly practices, and enhancing operational tools with blockchain and GIS technology. The project aims to raise public awareness, enable companies to offset carbon footprints, and create a self-sustaining market model applicable across Europe.
