Carbon Farming and Carbon‑Credit Markets: the contribution of the GECO 2.2 project to the sustainable transition

27/10/2025

The headquarters of Confidicoop Marche hosted the international event “Carbon Farming and Carbon Credit Market: GECO 2.2’s Contribution to the Sustainable Transition,” promoted by Legacoop Marche within the framework of the GECO 2.2 – Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme.

The event provided an important opportunity for dialogue on the strategic role of agriculture in addressing climate change through sustainable practices and innovative tools such as carbon credits. Enterprises, institutions, and researchers gathered to discuss carbon farming and the voluntary carbon credit market, sharing a common vision: building a more sustainable agricultural future that benefits both farmers and the environment.

The event saw strong participation from agricultural enterprises, which followed with great interest the contributions of representatives from Legacoop Marche and Romagna, the Marche Chamber of Commerce, the Marche Region, the Marche Polytechnic University, and CIHEAM Bari, actively contributing to the final round table discussion.
