As part of the Firespill Project Italy - Croatia, an international hybrid Conference "Disaster Management" was organized by Split-Dalmatia County and PI RERA in Split on October 21 st and 22 nd .
Hundreds of representatives of regional and local authorities, development agencies, the scientific community, institutions and rescue services involved in resolving crisis situations from Croatia and Italy,discussed one of the most current crisis situations in both countries - about earthquakes.
The emergency services of the Republic of Croatia for disaster response belong to the very top of theworld in terms of readiness and training, but their technical equipment is not at that level.
It is necessary to use as much as possible funds from the European Union in order to raise emergency services to an even higher level and become a safety brand in this part of Europe, was the main message of the conference.
