Validating eco-cultural touristic packages of Ravni kotari

26/10/2024

The weekend in Ravni Kotari and Heritage Trails are the names of two ecotourism packages developed by participants in the workshop "Defining Ecotourism Packages for Ravni Kotari." The aim of the workshop was to determine how well the designed ecocultural tourist products encompass what makes Ravni Kotari special (within the frameworks set by the core project document, Ethnic):

  • Natural attractions: Pristine nature, agricultural landscapes, local flora and fauna.
  • Culture and tradition: Local customs, culinary offerings, historical and cultural monuments.
  • Activities: Hiking, cycling, agritourism, educational programs on environmental conservation.

Local resources and internet marketing

The refined packages include activities such as visits to natural attractions, tours of cultural and historical sites, visits to local family farms, participation in traditional craft workshops, tastings of local products, and workshops on preparing local dishes. These will form the foundation for developing a digital marketing plan and promoting the newly created packages in the tourism market.

On the other hand, third workshop in Benkovac was about internet marketing for the promotion of eco-tourism. Participants gained the answers to many questions related to online marketing—the dominant channel through which tourism service providers and other industry stakeholders engage with the market today.

Basis on planning online promotions

With the knowledge and guidance received during the workshop, stakeholders in the tourism development of the Ravni kotari region laid the groundwork for strategically planning the placement of eco-cultural tourism packages. These packages, created with community participation, aim to preserve natural resources, promote ecological awareness, and provide visitors with authentic cultural and natural experiences while supporting rather than disrupting the destination's economic growth.

Participants were introduced to online marketing possibilities through search engines, received advice on how to segment target audiences, create an attractive website for the intended demographic, optimize it effectively, use social media strategically, develop engaging content, and understand why analytics and measurement are essential. These components form the basis for planning online promotions and serve as a foundation for all further activities related to the successful market entry (and the achievement of Ethnic project goals) of newly created eco-cultural tourism packages.
