Project specific objectives

  • To create a model for enhancing communities' understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in developing their capacity for Eco-Cultural Tourism by leveraging the knowledge and experiences acquired from Interreg and other EU-funded projects
  • To enhance public-private stakeholders' technical knowledge on eco-sustainable and cultural tourism in the ETHNIC project by leveraging EU projects' training materials, creating new content, and undertaking various activities, including creating eco-cultural tourism products and designing crossborder and territorial digital marketing strategies.

Project ETHNIC is a Small-scale project that aims to revolutionize tourism in small, inland, and peripheral communities with sustainability and eco-cultural elements.

Regional and local authorities will collaborate to promote tourism, create jobs, and develop joint policies. A key focus is community involvement and "ECO-CULTURAL TOURISM." ETHNIC builds on previous projects, partnering with 26 small municipalities to create plans for sustainable eco-cultural tourism, fostering local strategies and participatory planning.

    The conclusion of all workshops is that Montefeltro, with its parks, lakes, and castles, is the perfect destination for eco-cultural tourism - it just needs a small spark to truly take off. This should happen following the final activities of the ETHNIC project, mainly thanks to the cross-border cooperation, new tourism products, and the digital marketing strategy.
