About
DIGIT2COAST addresses the fragmented governance and digital asymmetries that hinder access to health, social care, and mobility services for vulnerable populations in the Adriatic coastal areas. Seasonal tourists, older adults, and people with disabilities often struggle to navigate uncoordinated public systems across borders. To overcome these obstacles, the project focuses on strengthening cross-border digital governance by investigating and testing solutions that improve administrative cooperation in health and emergency response. The central output is the "Care & Go Toolkit", a low-cost, open-source digital solution designed for public authorities to manage and visualise data on accessible services jointly. Through a comparative assessment of legal barriers and the drafting of a joint Service Charter, the project establishes shared standards for accessibility information. Pilot actions in the Marche and Abruzzo regions of Italy, and the Primorsko-Gorski and Dubrovnik-Neretva counties in Croatia, ensure the toolkit is tested in real-world conditions. By engaging small municipalities and service providers through co-creation workshops and a formal Memorandum of Understanding, DIGIT2COAST ensures the long-term sustainability of its results. This cross-border approach is essential to bridge policy gaps and provide an integrated, people-centred model for digital cooperation across the Adriatic.
