Works on the pilot action at the Port of Ravenna have officially started

On 4 December, ITL – Lead Partner of the CROSSFREIGHT project – held a technical coordination meeting with the Port of Ravenna Authority, the shunting operators MIST and Dinazzano Po, and Circle,responsible for developing the ICT tool supporting shunting operations in the port area. The meeting focused on the launch of activities and the definition of the next implementation steps.
The overall objective of the pilot is to move from the current manual management of individual railway shunting processes to assisted automation, through a software module supporting the planning and execution of shunting operations at the Ravenna hub.
The solution will be integrated with existing systems and those under development by the Port Authority, with the aim of improving operational efficiency, coordination, and interoperability, in line with EU objectives on digitalisation and multimodal transport.
