In the CLASS 4.0 project, IDA presents successful and innovative stories of Istrian entrepreneurs in the area of ​​the blue economy

On March 22 and 27, 2023, promotional events and business meetings with successful Istrian entrepreneurs in the area of the blue economy were held in the organization of the Istrian Development Agency as part of the CLASS 4.0 - CLuster for dAta-driven Solutions in the Sea economy project.

More precisely, the focus this time was on shipbuilding and fish processing, i.e. the companies Marservis d.o.o. from Kaštelir, S.I.C. d.o.o. from Višnjan and Tehnomont brodogradilište d.o.o. from Pula, whose success stories based on new technologies and innovations, circular economy and interesting sustainable and digital business models were presented to the interested public.

Luciano Beg, director and owner of Marservis d.o.o., a small shipbuilding company, presented in Novigrad and Kaštelir the innovative construction of an electrically powered passenger PROeco catamaran. It is the first catamaran of its kind in Croatia, and beyond, which represents an environmentally friendly and self-sufficient transport solution designed for work in ports, and should start operating already this summer in the Istrian area. The innovative Aquapod project was also presented - a pontoon designed to receive waste generated at sea.

 

Ivan Đani Stojnić, director and owner of S.I.C. d.o.o. from Višnjan, which deals with fish processing, presented the techniques and processes of fish processing and the use of blue and green technologies in the production process.

 

 

Milan Bičić, hull construction manager at Tehnomont shipyard d.o.o. from Pula, presented a new model of welding water jets on an aluminum hull for 2 Firefighting ships (the largest aluminum ships built in Croatia) for a Greek client and pointed out that Tehnomont is a relevant entity in the perspective niche of aluminum shipbuilding.

 

Ph.D. Boris Sabatti, director of the Istrian Development Agency, pointed out during the meeting with entrepreneurs that the CLASS 4.0 project promotes the results of previous projects from the INTERREG Italy-Croatia program, which focus on mariculture and the shipbuilding industry, and that IDA included innovative Istrian companies in the project sectors, which have added value and contribute to the growth and diversification of the Istrian economy.

 

As part of the project, another promotional event awaits us, which will take place on April 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Craft House in Poreč. The theme of the event will be the presentation of the IRI sector and innovative projects - Tehnomont brodogradilište d.o.o. Pula, Marservis d.o.o. and S.I.C. d.o.o.

Event on Istrian entrepreneurs' investments in Blue Innovation

On Monday, April 3, 2023, in the Craft House in Poreč, a presentation was held in the organization of the Istrian Development Agency as part of the CLASS 4.0 project on the topic of development and innovative projects of Istrian businessmen, as well as upcoming tenders for the allocation of grants for the investment of Istrian companies in research, development and innovation in business.
