10/09/2024

Preparations for the joint exercise between the Civil Protection volunteers of the Pratiarcati Union and the Fire Brigade of the city of Labin (JVP) continue. On 9 September, joint inspections were carried out at the locations that will host the various emergency scenarios in which Italian and Croatian volunteers and rescue professionals will work together during the joint exercise on 19 and 20 October.
The Commander of the Labin Fire Department and the Volunteer Operations Coordinator shared the contents of the exercise, checked the feasibility of the scenarios and agreed on the solutions to be adopted in case of bad weather.
Numerous variables were analysed, such as the weather, the number of volunteers involved, the amount of support materials, the involvement of the population, and the resumption of operations from above with the use of drones and helicopter air support.
Particular attention was paid to the inspections concerning the training of the teams working with ropes and who can work on the roofs of the scenarios are located in the territory of Albignasego, Maserà di Padova and in the Euganean Hills Regional Park, in relation to the part of the exercise that will concern forest fire-fighting. The Veneto Region Fire Fighting Operations Representative was also present, who helped outline the possible activities and external support available (helicopter, other volunteer groups available during the exercises, presence of the Italian Professional Fire Brigade).
It was an intense day, which ended with a check of the materials available at the Civil Protection volunteers' headquarters to share their use and preparation for the joint exercice.
