CHANGE WE CARE fosters concerted and coordinated climate adaptation actions at transboundary level. The project explores climate risks faced by coastal and transition areas contributing to a better understanding of the impact of climate variability and change on water regimes, salt intrusion, tourism, biodiversity and agro-ecosystems affecting the cooperation area. The main goal is to deliver integrated, ecosystem-based and shared planning options for different problems related to climate change (CC), together with adaptation measures for vulnerable areas to decision makers and coastal communities who may best benefit from it.

CHANGE WE CARE

VIDEO

La bora. Spiegata bene.

How and where Bora wind  originates and how it enters the Gulf of Trieste and then continues along the coasts of Veneto and Emilia Romagna. The Change We Care Project team contributed to the realization of this interesting documentary, produced by the Bora Museum (@museobora) and the Meteorological Union of Friuli Venezia Giulia (UMDFG),  by providing modeling support for the short clip showing the "Gates of the Bora", those orographic passages through which the Bora flows as a river of air in the Adriatic Sea.

Banco della Mula di Muggia Pilot Site

The video, produced by the Central Directorate for Environmental Defense, Energy and Sustainable Development - Geological service of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia,  in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics and Geosciences of the University of Trieste, shows the Banco della Mula di Muggia, one of the five pilot sites of the CHANGE WE CARE project.

CHANGE WE CARE first videoclip

How does climate change affect the Adriatic basin? How can such complex emergency be resolved?
To find out, have a look to this first video, realised using an infographic technique, which is specifically focused on the climate change issues affecting the Adriatic  Sea and the project pilot sites.

CHANGE WE CARE second videoclip

What are the specific issues affecting the five project pilot sites due to climate change? What concrete adaptive measures were indentified in order to combine the economic and social needs of a specific area with the protection of its natural heritage within a climate system which is changing?  In this second video, the approach and the results obtained by CHANGE WE CARE project were presented

CHANGE WE CARE Final Conference

The Final conferenze of CHANGE WE CARE project was held on-line on Thursday, November 11th, from 9:00 to 13:00. Together with a group of International experts, we presented the results achieved in three years of activity and provided an overview of the strategies and adaptation measures identified to increase the resilience of the Adriatic coastal areas to climate change, also in the broader framework of the present challenges and upcoming opportunities
