BLUTOURSYSTEM kick-off Meeting: platform, skills and creative synergies to develop the blue tourism ecosystem

On 12 March 2018, the first kick-off meeting of the project BLUTOURSYSTEM was held in Venice.

The event was organized by Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, lead partner of the project, whose partnership is composed of Veneto Region, Puglia Region, Region of Istria, University of Split and Local Action Group LAG 5.

The aims of this meeting were to present BLUTOURSYSTEM project and discuss about it, organize and plan future activities in order to deliver the main project goals. BLUTOURSYSTEM project was born to enhance the framework conditions for innovation in the relevant sectors of the blue economy within the cooperation area. The project aims to provide tourism operators with tools and skill to develop new business ecosystems and to identify new tourism scenarios and to increase participants’ skills and knowledge having multiplier effect on the tourism sector.

BLUTOURSYSTEM project contributes to improve the frame conditions for the Blue Tourism sustainable growth. Starting from the capitalization of knowledge-based tools developed by the MED project Tourmedassets, BLUTOURSYSTEM provides a Quadruple Helix Platforms organized into 2 branches:

  • The ADVICE BLUE POINT (ABP) that offers advanced services and market intelligence to help the decisional process, policies making and investments;

  • The Cross Border LIVING LAB (LL), a CB open space for networking, peers learning and training.

BLUTOURSYSTEM is funded by Interreg V-A Italy-Croatia CBC Programme 2014­-2020, mainly through the European Regional Development Fund. The total budget of the project is € 1.037.050 with a EU co-financing of €881.492,50 through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

BLUTOURSYSTEM project will last for 18 Months and will represent a real chance to advance the Cross Border Tourism Sector in the long run.
