BLUTOURSYSTEM ThirdMeeting of the Steering Committee: outcomes of the panel interviewspointing out gaps and needs of the tourist offer

On 5th and 6th December 2018, theThird Meeting of BLUTOURSYSTEM Steering Committee was held in Pula, hosted by Region of Istria.

The meeting was mainly focused on the outcomes of the panel interviews in the perspective of the Operative Methodology (OM) in the frame of Work Package 3 “Knowledge-based tools (KBT) creation CB knowledge networks development”. As a matter of fact, in its activities BLUTOURSYSTEM project involved several stakeholders, representative of both public and private sector in the tourism field. Particularly, the identified panel of stakeholders provided information for a participated analysis through interviews and consultations that pointed out gaps and needs of the tourist offer. Therefore, participants identified the main cross-border scenarios in this frame and shared a strategic vision for driving innovation in cross-border sustainable tourism.

Furthermore, project partners discussed about Work Package 4titled “Capacity building process, networking and pilot scenarios for Blue tourism development”. In particular, they introduced “Learning model and QH mechanism”, presented the stakeholders database and scheduled the multi-stakeholders activities (seminars, networking and peers leering, scenarios workshops).

BLUTOURSYSTEM project was born to enhance the framework conditions for innovation in the relevant sectors of the blue economy within the cooperation area. The project aim to provides tourism operators with tools and skill to develop new business ecosystems and to identify new tourism scenarios and to increase participants’ skills and knowledge having multiplier effect on the tourism sector

The Project Partners of the project are: University Ca’ Foscari Venezia, University of Split – Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, Veneto region, Istria region, Puglia region and LAG 5.

BLUTOURSYSTEM project will last for 18 Months and will represent a real chance to advance the Cross-Border Tourism Sector in the long run.
