TRAININGS in Porto Cesareo

15/01/2026

The BIOPRESSADRIA training courses concluded this week at the Porto Cesareo Marine Protected Area in Apulia, Italy.

The site of Porto Cesareo is one of the five BIOPRESSADRIA pilot sites, where, over the past two years, project partners have carried out experimental actions, both conceptual and practical, to preserve and enhance marine biodiversity. Some of these pilot actions, focused on coastal biodiversity conservation and promoting ecological anchoring practices, as the case of the Porto Cesareo site, will end this spring.

What did the participants discuss, and what information did they receive during these 7 BIOPRESSADRIA training sessions held by experts and speakers in Porto Cesareo?

As mentioned in previous posts and news, the training has been a mix of theoretical activities focused on marine biodiversity conservation and practical activities through fieldwork. The participants had the opportunity to go out to sea amid wind, waves, and plenty of curiosity.

The Training offered deep overviews about the ecosystem value of microalgae, sampling, water analysis, marine monitoring activities, microplastics, mapping of underwater environments, and the fish biodiversity present in our seas.

The BIOPRESSADRIA TRAININGS don’t stop! Now it's time for training at the pilot site in Monfalcone, Panzano Bay.

Stay tuned and don't miss the chance to participate in the 2-day training organized by the Municipality of Monfalcone between the end of January and the beginning of February!
