SAVE THE DATE: Joint Testing and Cross-border Networking Events on sustainable mariculture in Bistrina
On Thursday, September 25, 2025, the University of Dubrovnik’s Mariculture Laboratory in Bistrina will host two key events as part of the BIOBASED project.
The day will begin with a Joint Testing Event (10:00–13:00), during which project partners and stakeholders will conduct field activities and demonstrate ongoing experimental work related to Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) systems. Participants will have the opportunity to observe first-hand how shellfish and macroalgae are cultivated together in an innovative, sustainable production model designed to improve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
In the afternoon, the 1st Cross-border networking event (15:00–18:30) will bring together researchers, aquaculture operators, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to present the project’s latest results and exchange experiences. The session will focus on fostering collaboration, strengthening cross-border cooperation, and creating new opportunities within the sustainable blue economy.
These events represent an important moment for sharing knowledge, building partnerships, and connecting science with local businesses and communities.
