On Friday 30th October 2020, the University of Zadar is organizing the 2nd Adrireef Scientific Workshop. Main focus of the event is the analysis of the biological and business importance of the Adriatic reefs. During the day, the scientific community will describe the biological diversity of the Adrireef case study reefs and the stakeholders, together with the local community, will discover new aspects on how to implement their work and activities on the reefs or with the reefs in a sustainable way in order to foster sustainable blue economy.
Up to now, the scientific community has made several studies on Adriatic reefs and many environmental projects were funded on this topic. Adrireef is collecting relevant information from the scientific literature and is studying and monitoring seven case study Adriatic reefs in order to investigate their relevance in terms of Blue Economy.
The scientific workshop is organized with the aim to involve scholars and researchers and to share their experience and knowledge. In particular, the focus is on analysing how Adriatic reefs can support Blue Economy, how the business stakeholders can benefit from the knowledge provided by the Adrireef project, how this knowledge and expertise can be effectively transferred to stakeholders and policy-makers.
Among the invited community there will be stakeholders from different business sectors such as tourism, sport and industrial fishing, diving centres and schools, scientific and educational institutions, together with students and general public. Press and TV have been invited too.
