Pilot programme Makarska Holiday
13/04/2026
The pilot holiday programme “Makarska Holiday”, organised by Zdravi grad with the support of JU RERA S.D. is designed as a multi-day inclusive experience (07-10 April) combining social interaction, cultural discovery, and well-being.
The programme begins with participants’ arrival at the destination, followed by accommodation, an orientation tour, and familiarisation with the hotel environment. The first evening includes an interactive workshop with social games, encouraging connection and group cohesion in a relaxed setting.
The following day is dedicated to spiritual and natural heritage. Activities include morning preparation and a moment of reflection, a visit to the Vepric Sanctuary (Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes), and time spent by the sea in a calm and restorative atmosphere. The day concludes with an evening of music and reminiscence, designed to stimulate memory and emotional connection.
The third day focuses on culture and memory. Participants take part in a cultural route through the historic centre of Makarska, including visits to the Franciscan Monastery and the Malacological Museum. The programme incorporates tactile methods and storytelling to enhance engagement and accessibility. The afternoon is reserved for rest and a light seaside walk, followed by a creative workshop in which participants produce a “Makarska Memory Poster” using collected materials such as postcards, natural elements, and personal mementos from the holiday.
The programme concludes with departure and return home. If conditions allow, a short, calm visit to the historic town of Omiš may be organised along the way, offering an additional opportunity for reflection and shared experience.
Through a carefully balanced combination of activities, the programme promotes inclusion, well-being, and meaningful engagement for both participants and their caregivers, demonstrating the potential of accessible and socially responsible tourism.
