Exploring Artificial Intelligence: the training in Venice by Interreg IT/HR

31/01/2026

On 22 January 2026, the ADRIJOROUTES project took part in an in-person training session on Artificial Intelligence for project communication, held in the inspiring setting of Palazzo Grandi Stazioni in Venice.

The event was organised for projects funded under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 Programme and represented a valuable opportunity to reflect on how AI tools can support communication activities within EU-funded projects, while keeping human creativity, accuracy and authenticity firmly at the centre.

AI as a Support, not a content author

One of the key messages that emerged from the training was that AI should be seen as a strategic assistant rather than a content creator. Participants explored how AI can help project teams:

  • structure communication plans and outlines for content
  • optimise texts through the use of keywords and clarity
  • save time in repetitive tasks

At the same time, strong emphasis was placed on the importance of human oversight. AI can enhance efficiency, but it cannot replace the personal touch that ensures messages are accurate, meaningful and aligned with project values.

Networking and Cross-Fertilisation

Beyond the technical aspects, the meeting was also a valuable moment for networking and cross-fertilisation among projects. In particular, ADRIJOROUTES exchanged experiences and ideas with colleagues from MILEPORT and DIGITPORTS, fostering collaboration and shared learning across initiatives.
Take a look at the pictures – it was great to see so many participants.

Looking Ahead

Participation in this training reinforced ADRIJOROUTES’ commitment to innovative, responsible and human-centred communication. By integrating AI thoughtfully and strategically, the project continues to enhance its ability to communicate results, engage stakeholders and tell its story in a clear and authentic way.

The ADRIJOROUTES partnership would like to sincerely thank the Joint Secretariat of Interreg VI-A Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 for organising this high-quality training session for all funded projects. The event provided valuable insights, practical guidance and an excellent space for dialogue, contributing to the strengthening of communication capacities across the Programme.
