The electric tractor purchased by Airports of Puglia (PP2) in the frame of the ADRIGREEN project is in operation at the Airport of Brindisi. 

The new vehicle (Model: SIMAI TE252), aimed at the airport ground handling service, carries long-range heavy loads (for instance, luggage) and has replaced similar vehicles equipped with diesel engines. In this way the Airport of Brindisi, in line with zero green-house gas emission strategy of Airports of Puglia, will contribute to the reduction of C02 emissions and energy consumption while executing daily tasks.

As a matter of fact, Airports of Puglia has long started an environmental policy that safeguards and protects the environment by adopting new sustainable models, reducing the environmental impact of its airports, and pursuing a socially responsible behavior, oriented towards the economic, social and environmental sustainability. For this reason, energy supply interventions, environmental impact mitigation, airport noise abatement and rainwater recycling actions were carried out. 

The activities implemented thanks to ADRIGREEN continue along this line and contribute to enhance competitiveness while facing the climate issue, a priority of fundamental importance for the whole cross-border territory.
