Under the slogan "Is it clear?", in Podgora near Makarska, last weekend, April 29-30, an ecological underwater cleaning action is being held, co-organized by the Public Institution RERAS.D. for the coordination and development of the Split-Dalmatia County and the Podstrana Diving Ecological Club in cooperation with the Municipality of Podgora and the Tourist Board of Podgora.

The start of the eco-action was marked by the gathering of volunteer divers on Saturday, April 29 at 9:00 a.m. at the Riva in Podgora, after which the participants were divided into teams and started cleaning the beaches and underwater areas of Podgora and Drašnice.

On Sunday, April 30, i.e. on the second day of the weekend eco-action "Is it clear?", participants cleaned the beaches and underwater areas in the settlements of Igrane and Živogošće.

About 50 divers from various diving clubs and associations gathered in this commendable ecological weekend event: Amfora Rab Underwater Activities Club, Mostar Diving Club, Lukovac Eco Diving Group for the Disabled, Sarajevo Amphibians Safety Diving Club, Osijek Diving Club, DVD Podgora and Podgorski utility man. The divers were cheered on and accompanied by local volunteers who contributed to cleaning their own underwater.

The ecological action of cleaning part of the beaches and underwater areas of the Makarska Riviera was  organized within the cross-border project AdriaClim, co-financed by the Italy-Croatia Program, whose main goal is to mitigate the consequences of climate change in the Adriatic area.
The aim of this commendable action was to raise the awareness of the local population and the general public about the importance of preserving the sea, as one of the most valuable resources of our area.
