In 2015 the Interreg Italy-Croatia CBC Programme was an absolute novelty. Dedicated exclusively to Italian and Croatian public and private organizations the Programme enabled the setting up of cross-border partnerships and the achievement of new solutions for the benefit of the citizens of the Area.
After 6 years and 8 months and many Programme results achieved, today we are proud to announce that on 10th August 2022 the European Commission adopted the Interreg Italy-Croatia CBC Programme for the period 2021-2027 with the Final Decision (2022) n. 5935 (Italian version and Croatian version available).
The Programme confirms the same geographic area as in 2014-2020 for both the Italian and the Croatian side.
Hereinafter some key figures:
- 25 Italian provinces
- 8 Croatian counties
- Overall surface covered: 85.5 thousand square kilometers
- Overall number of inhabitants covered: 12.29 Millions of people

The next steps for the 2021-2027 Programme are the formal designation of the governing structure, the Monitoring Committee, while the Programme bodies (Managing Authority, Audit Authority and Joint Secretariat) were already confirmed in continuity with the 2014-2020 current Programme.
On 24th and 25th October 2022 in Venice the annual event devoted to the 2014-2020 Programme has been already announced and on this occasion the official presentation of the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme 2021-2027 is planned, together with an illustration of its relevant features and the main elements of the first call for proposals.
