Ecomed event in Catania on April 22
The Wastereduce project will be presented in Catania on April 22 as part of the Ecomed event. The presentation, titled “Synergies between institutions and businesses for the protection of Natura 2000 areas: the waste management and reduction strategy in the Interreg Wastereduce project,” will highlight collaborative approaches to improving waste management and reducing environmental impact in protected areas.
The focus of the speech is to demonstrate how protecting biodiversity and ecosystem services requires a shared commitment and strong synergy between public institutions, management bodies, and local businesses.
The participatory governance model adopted by Etra in the "Grave e zone umide del Brenta" pilot site will be illustrated, highlighting the concrete actions implemented to build territorial agreements and shared protocols. Through the analysis of this case study, the operational strategy used for waste reduction will be outlined, based on an integrated approach that combines monitoring, prevention, and mitigation, proposing a replicable model of public-private cooperation for environmental sustainability
