CROSS-BORDER STRATEGY AND ACTION PLAN

The Adriatic region faces a critical challenge: a reliance on road transport and a shortage of robust intermodal connections. To bridge this gap, the TRANSPONEXT project is launching a strategic initiative to revolutionize cross-border transport. This work package focuses on laying the groundwork for sustainable change. Partners will conduct in-depth analyses of the current transport landscape, building on the successes of the previous TRANSPOGOOD project. The aim? To develop a comprehensive cross-border strategy and action plan. This plan will serve as a blueprint for modernizing transport connections, boosting efficiency, and minimizing environmental impact. The findings will not only fuel the development of innovative solutions within TRANSPONEXT but also provide vital guidance to policymakers and transport stakeholders across the region, driving the shift towards sustainable intermodal transport.

Digital Tools for Seamless Intermodal Transport

This work package moves from strategy to action by developing the essential ICT tools for a modern transport network. Through pilot projects, we will implement wagon pooling in Trieste, digitalize port and rail operations in Zadar and Ploče, and deploy a new cargo tracking system in Abruzzo. All solutions will be integrated into the upgraded TRANSPOGOOD platform, creating a central hub with new rail routing and e-booking features to provide a unified technological backbone for efficient, sustainable logistics.
