29/04/2026
The University of Rijeka, Faculty of Maritime Studies, organized 13th annual Career Day on 22 April 2026 in Rijeka, Croatia. This traditional event is aimed at familiarizing students with the professional world and empowering future seafarers and experts in the field of maritime and transport studies through the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and professional development opportunities.
This year's edition of Career Day was marked by high student and visitor attendance, as well as the participation of more than 50 companies and institutions from the maritime economy sector, government institutions, and other relevant organizations. Participants had the opportunity to visit exhibitor stands, talk with potential employers, find out about internship possibilities, take part in job interviews for first employment, and submit their CVs. They were also able to learn about the projects being carried out by the Faculty, which bring concrete benefits to students, employees, and the institution itself through the development of knowledge and competencies, the enhancement of teaching and research capacities, and the procurement of modern equipment that enables higher-quality practical and scientific work.
As part of the event, the Centre for International Projects presented 12 current projects funded through various European programmes, with the aim of showcasing the wide range of international and national collaborations in which the Faculty actively participates.
Within the programme, the Centre for International Projects presented the TransH2 project, alongside a range of other EU-funded initiatives, including INNO2MARE and BIO-INTEL-MOB (Horizon Europe), PRESPORT, BEST4.0, and TOFOLA (Interreg Italy–Croatia), FRED (Interreg EuroMED), NextBlueGeneration (EMFAF), GREENPORT, DigiMar, and PraC-MARENG Plus (Erasmus+), as well as PortEMS (Integrated Territorial Programme 2021–2027).
The University of Rijeka, Faculty of Maritime Studies, has once again reaffirmed its role as a regional centre of excellence and a key link between science, industry, and education in the maritime sector.
