About section

About

The TransH2 project focuses on enhancing the sustainability of cross-border sea mobility in the Adriatic region. It aims to modernize maritime connections by implementing low-carbon transport solutions, specifically zero-emission fuels like green hydrogen. By demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of these solutions, the project seeks to promote their adoption among port authorities, transport operators, and other stakeholders in the area.
The ultimate goal is to contribute to the European Green Deal objectives by significantly reducing emissions from the maritime sector. To achieve this, the project will focus on developing innovative hydrogen-fueled vessels and infrastructure, ensuring a full hydrogen supply chain for maritime transport in Italy and Croatia.

Key activities include researching and analyzing options for greening maritime transport links, designing hydrogen-fueled passenger ships, and conducting feasibility studies for hydrogen fueling stations in port infrastructures.
By promoting cross-border cooperation and sharing knowledge and expertise, the project aims to overcome challenges and drive the adoption of sustainable sea mobility solutions in the region. It recognizes that achieving these goals requires collaboration between the private sector, public authorities, and investment in research, innovation, and infrastructure development.
