Participation of M.A.R.E. TC FVG at Europort 2025 in Rotterdam

The TransH2 project partner M.A.R.E. TC FVG participated in Europort 2025, held from 4 to 7 November 2025 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands — one of the world’s leading maritime technology exhibitions.
At the event, Fincantieri S.p.A presented Wave 2 the Future, a pioneering hydrogen-based initiative within the IPCEI Hy2Tech programme, which on 5 November received the GREEN4SEA Europort Initiative Award. The project focuses on introducing hydrogen as a zero-emission fuel for the maritime sector, with innovative solutions for cruise vessels and onboard energy systems.
Additional highlights included:

Wärtsilä, showcasing engines running on H₂ + LNG.

H2SITE, demonstrating ammonia cracking technologies and small-scale onboard solutions.

The MF Hydra model, built by the Turkish shipyard Norse, recalling a study visit to Norway, where TransH2 partners had the opportunity to go onboard this ferry.
M.A.R.E. TC FVG’s participation allowed TransH2 to strengthen synergies with leading hydrogen and digitalisation initiatives, gather input for project activities, and embed the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional cluster in key international forums on the maritime energy transition.
Participation in Europort 2025 reinforced TransH2’s commitment to cross-sector cooperation, knowledge exchange, and supporting Europe’s green and digital transition in the maritime sector.
