A 4-day project’s activity titled “Training the trainers” has been held at PP6 Irecoop Veneto, in Padua from 25th to 28th November 2019, aimed at operators and stakeholders of the different project partners who represent the "tourist offer".
The objective of the activity was the contribution for the establishment of an “accessibility culture” that will ensure long-term supply and development of accessible-tourism services and so developing the skills of accessible-tourism service providers.
On November 28th the last day of training has been dedicated to an experiential visit where participants were able to use wheelchairs in turn, experimenting with a tour in the center of Padua, to see first-hand the accessibility that the city will be able to offer tourists, with its monuments, churches, museums, hotels and restaurants.
It was an opportunity to deepen the needs of people with physical, sensory (sight, hearing) and cognitive-behavioral disabilities with a focus also on the dietary needs of travelers with intolerances or allergies.
A further “Training of the Trainers” activirt will take place in February 2020 in Ancona and will be aimed at associations that represent the demand for accessible tourism.
