Co-design workshops advance the pilot tourism itinerary in Friuli Venezia Giulia

19/01/2026

On 15 and 16 January, two co-design workshops were held as part of the development of the pilot tourism itinerary in Friuli Venezia Giulia within the TOFOLA project.

The meetings took place in Tolmezzo, focusing on the mountain and hill areas, and in Udine, dedicated to the plain and lagoon territories.

Both workshops recorded strong participation and a high level of engagement from operators, institutions, and professionals from the tourism sector. The sessions provided a valuable opportunity to analyse the proposed itineraries, highlighting their strengths and identifying concrete suggestions for improvement through an open and collaborative discussion.

The workshops

During the workshops, participants were introduced to the new tourism itinerary “From the Forests of Carnia to the Marano Lagoon”, which aims to connect inland forest landscapes with lagoon environments through sustainable, accessible, and place-based tourism experiences.

A preview of the upcoming Open Cross-Border Competition was also presented. The official call will be published soon across TOFOLA’s communication channels, and stakeholders were invited to follow the project to stay updated on future opportunities.

The programme included presentations by Legno Servizi – Forest Cluster of Friuli Venezia Giulia on its role within the project, an overview of the Interreg TOFOLA project, and a moderated co-design session that encouraged dialogue and exchange among participants.

Each workshop concluded with closing remarks and an informal networking aperitif, further strengthening connections between local actors.

The positive response and active contribution from participants confirmed the relevance of the co-design approach and marked an important step forward in shaping a shared and sustainable tourism itinerary for the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
